How does Analyzify work?

A strategic and technical explanation on how Analyzify works.

Analyzify is a powerful data analytics tool designed to help Shopify store owners make the most out of their e-commerce data.

Accordingly, we constantly monitor our solutions & improve them to adapt to the latest market and platform changes in order to provide the best experience for our clients.

We offer a seamless data analytics setup for Shopify merchants within two different options: Analyzify Lightweight, and Analyzify Advanced.

Now, let's deep dive into how Analyzify works for these two methods.

How does the Lightweight Method work?

Shopify's recent updates have led to the deprecation of the checkout.liquid file, along with the release of the "checkout extensibility" feature.

These important changes have affected the use of Google Tag Manager, bringing in some limitations. As a result, the demand for alternative integration methods has grown.

The lightweight method appears as a streamlined solution to this demand with no GTM containers or custom coding needed.

The Analyzify Lightweight integration offers a quick, user-friendly, and reliable approach to Shopify integration.

Instead of the complex process of integrating through Google Tag Manager, the lightweight method utilizes Shopify's built-in capabilities and APIs to connect your store with the most required analytics tools - in one click.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the Analyzify Lightweight method.

How does the Advanced Method work?

Analyzify uses advanced data layers to generate a Google Tag Manager container tailored to your more sophisticated tracking needs.

Our comprehensive GTM container is perfectly connected with the data layers and transforms all the data to the relevant third parties. It includes all the major marketing and tracking tags you need for your Shopify store’s success.

With the Advanced method, you get all your extended e-commerce tracking needs, such as more customization and destinations to integrate, covered.

To fully maximize the benefits of the Analyzify Advanced, it is important to understand its features and how it works.

Here are the features and an overview of this method:

Core Setup

Data layers and GTM are needed to make the Advanced method functional. So, here is the setup you should have to take advantage of Analyzify with the Advanced integration method.

Data Layers

Data layers are a critical component of Advanced's core setup. Analyzify injects advanced data layers into the theme files of your store. Data layers standardize the information on your store and make it possible for them to be processed by Google Tag Manager.

Google Tag Manager (GTM)

Analyzify Advanced works through GTM, which processes all the data and passes them into the tracking platforms under conditions prespecified by you.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (through GTM)

GA4 is the new and default version of Google Analytics. Analyzify’s initial setup will only send the data to GA4, so please note that you can’t take full advantage of Analyzify unless you use GA4.

Included as a backup / alternative to the native integrations

Analyzify’s backup tags can be used as an alternative to native integrations if you’re experiencing issues with your data. However, in most cases, we recommend that you stick with the native integrations. Analyzify also supports tracking for several other platforms, including Pinterest, Twitter, Tiktok, and more.

Facebook Pixels (through GTM)

Shopify’s native Facebook Pixel integration works better than Google Tag Manager in most cases and also supports Facebook Conversion API on the server-side. Analyzify provides Facebook Pixel backup tags, but we recommend that you stick with the native integration unless you’re experiencing issues.

Analyzify provides Google Ads remarketing pixels on its GTM container, but we recommend that you use the official Google sales channel for your remarketing tags.

Universal Analytics (through GTM)

(available for all but recommended only for Shopify Plus)
