Hotjar is a customer behavior tracking tool that is used for websites. It allows business owners to gain insight into user behavior by observing heat maps and session recordings. Hotjar is also highly useful for gaining data about the usability of your website and learning about customer motivation & interest through feedback widgets and surveys.
Analyzify offers the Base Code tag for Hotjar in its GTM container. By implementing Analyzify's Hotjar tags, you can track and gather user analytics about your website.
Now let's deep dive into activating the Hotjar tags through your GTM container.
Head to your Hotjar account to find your site's Hotjar ID.
Copy the 7-digit ID left to your site's name, or click the "View Tracking Code" text under the "Tracking" column and copy the ID digits next to "Site ID".
Head to GTM Admin > “Variables” > “User-defined Variables”, and click on "constant - Hotjar - Site ID". Enter your ID into the value area and save the changes.
Then, head to "Tags" and type for Hotjar. Choose the Hotjar tags you want to activate and click the "PLAY" icon on the top-right corner.
Click "Submit" to save the changes on your container.
