This article doesn’t target the comparisons between Analyzify vs. the native Facebook integration. Instead, it compares the usages between Google Tag Manager vs. the native integration.
Facebook’s native integration comes with 3 core features:
- A product feed which is automatically connected to Facebook,
- Browser-level, classic Facebook Pixel connection,
- Facebook Conversion API that works on the server-side.
Analyzify’s standard version only includes the classic Facebook Pixel integration through Google Tag Manager - but provides more data than Facebook’s native integration.
Analyzify’s server-side version also includes Facebook Conversion API and again provides more data than Facebook’s native integration. So here are our recommendations in short:
For Regular (non-Shopify Plus) Shopify Stores:
- Stick to the native integration for Facebook.
- Use Analyzify for GTM, GA4, and many other benefits; but make sure that you keep the Facebook Pixel tags paused.
- Only use Analyzify’s FB Pixel on GTM if you have problems with the native integrations.
For Shopify Plus stores
If you don’t want to use Analyzify's server-side add-on, the same suggestion goes for regular Shopify stores. However, please be reminded that the best setup for you is to use our server-side tagging add-on, because you will have access to the “checkout.liquid” file - and our integration works better than the native Facebook. As for other best practices:
- Use the native integration for your product feed.
- Use Analyzify’s standard + server-side versions for GTM, GA4, Facebook Pixel, and Facebook Conversion API setup.
