Is Analyzify GDPR compliant?
Although Analyzify is GDPR-compliant as a product, you need an additional tool focused on consent management for your store to be fully GDPR-compliant. Once used together with an integrated tool and proper setup, Analyzify is fully compliant.
Do I have to use a GDPR app?
Yes. To achieve full compliance, you will need an external tool in addition to Analyzify to manage your users’ consent.
I want to use Shopify’s native GDPR solution. What will I miss?
To put it simply, the Shopify GDPR app functions as a banner: It connects with Consent API and blocks the data flow regarding the given consent by the user. It does not support the Google Consent Mode, which is the main reason why it does not work with our setup. Google Consent Mode connects with GTM; without it, the user’s consent choice cannot be tracked via GTM. On the other hand, the supported apps include Google Consent Mode, which works as a bridge between Shopify and GTM using both GCM and the Shopify Customer Privacy API. Hence, if you continue with Shopify GDPR, your native integrations, such as Facebook, will work according to the user’s consent. However, our GDPR setup will not work (since the setup does not include GCM and required events do not pass).
As for our standard setup (without GDPR), if Region(s) is selected within the Settings > Customer Privacy tab, this situation may affect your accuracy rates.
Which apps are compatible with Analyzify, and what should I do if I’m not using any of them?
Currently, Analyzify is compatible with the apps GDPR Compliance Center (by Pandectes), Cookiebot (by Usercentrics), as consent management solutions. Because Analyzify works through GTM, and only Google’s Consent Mode enables GTM to be GDPR compliant, we need an app that works through Consent Mode. Apart from the apps listed, we are not aware of any other apps that provide Google Consent Mode, but if you are, kindly let our team know and we’ll check it out 🙂
Why is this setup complex?
This is due to GDPR including many different elements such as the consent tool, team settings, browser settings, Shopify, etc. Due to this complexity, a large percentage of European websites are still not GDPR-compliant and are at risk of being fined.
